According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the city has a total area of {{convert|1.6|sqmi|km2}}, of which {{convert|1.6|sqmi|km2}} are land and {{convert|0.04|sqmi|km2}}, or 2.75%, are water.<ref name="CenPopGazetteer2022"/>

[[U.S. Route 19]] passes just east of the city limits, leading southeast {{convert|19|mi}} to [[Thomasville, Georgia|Thomasville]], the Thomas [[county seat]], and northwest {{convert|5|mi|0}} to [[Pelham, Georgia|Pelham]]. [[Georgia State Route 111]] passes through the center of Meigs on Marshall Street and Depot Street; it leads northeast {{convert|20|mi}} to [[Moultrie, Georgia|Moultrie]] and southwest {{convert|16|mi}} to [[Cairo, Georgia|Cairo]].
