The album generally received positive reviews from music critics. In 2015, the critic Saby Reyes-Kulkarni of [[Townsquare Media|Diffuser]] stated that "[o]n their landmark second album, Deftones infused elements of [[new wave music|new wave]] and [[shoegaze]] to define their future direction.
