Through several companies, FIFA sold the broadcasting rights for the 1998 FIFA World Cup to many broadcasters. [[BBC]] and [[ITV (TV network)|ITV]] had the broadcasting rights in the United Kingdom. The World Cup matches were broadcast in 200 countries. 818 photographers were credited for the tournament. In every match, a stand was reserved for the press.
