Most unemployed people are aged 15 to 24 years old.

The [[unemployment rate]] in rural areas (around 10.0%) is nearly two times higher than the unemployment rate in urban areas (approximately 5.1%).

[[Vidin Province]] has the highest unemployment rate with almost one fifth of its labour force being unemployed. The provinces of [[Shumen Province|Shumen]] (15.9%), [[Silistra Province|Silistra]] (12.5%) and [[Targovishte Province|Targovishte]] (12.4%) also have very high unemployment rates.
