Malinalxochitl
Template:Short description Template:Infobox deity In Aztec mythology, Malinalxochitl, or Malīnalxōch,<ref name="HC43">Template:Harvp</ref> (Template:Langx Template:IPA, from Nahuatl malinalli "grass" and xochitl "flower") was a sorceress and goddess of snakes, scorpions, and insects of the desert.<ref name="HC37">Template:Harvp</ref><ref name="B41">Template:Harvp</ref> She claimed the title Cihuacoatl, meaning "Woman Serpent" or "Snake Woman".<ref>Template:Harvp</ref> Her brother was Huītzilōpōchtli.<ref name="HC43"/><ref name="HC37"/><ref name="D96">Template:Harvp</ref><ref>Template:Harvp</ref> During the migration, she was abandoned during her sleep by the Mexicas as directed by her brother. Afterward she had a son named Copil with Chimalcuauhtli, king of Malinalco.<ref name="B41"/><ref>Template:Harvp</ref>
