History
[edit]An early variant name was "Buncombe".<ref>Template:GNIS</ref> It was then renamed after James Harvie Logan, an early settler.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> The Georgia General Assembly incorporated Loganville as a town in 1887.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref>
Geography
[edit]Loganville is in western Walton County, with the city limits extending west into southeastern Gwinnett County. U.S. Route 78 (Atlanta Highway) passes through the center of town, leading east Template:Convert to Monroe, the Walton County seat, and west Template:Convert to downtown Atlanta. Georgia State Route 20 leads northwest from Loganville Template:Convert to Lawrenceville, the Gwinnett County seat, and southwest Template:Convert to Conyers. Georgia State Route 81 leads northeast Template:Convert to Winder and south Template:Convert to Covington.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Loganville has a total area of Template:Convert, of which Template:Convert is land and Template:Convert, or 0.60%, is water.<ref name="Census 2010">Template:Cite webTemplate:Dead linkTemplate:Cbignore</ref> It is about Template:Convert from downtown Atlanta and is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area.Template:Sfn
