Geography
[edit]Leary is located in southeastern Calhoun County at Template:Coord (31.485431, -84.513293).<ref name="GR1">Template:Cite web</ref> It is Template:Convert southwest of Albany and Template:Convert southeast of Morgan, the county seat.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Leary has a total area of Template:Convert, of which Template:Convert, or 0.20%, is water.<ref name="Census 2010">Template:Cite web</ref>
History
[edit]On October 2, 1916, a woman named Connelly, whose son was accused of murder, was taken from the Leary jail and lynched. Her body, riddled with bullets was found two days later.<ref>"Negro Woman Lynched" Cincinnati Enquirer, October 5, 1916</ref>

[edit]As of the census<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 666 people, 256 households, and 176 families residing in the city. By 2020, its population declined to 524.
