The population was 1,623 at the 2010 census, up from 1,037 in 2000. History
[edit]Biola was founded by William Kerchoff in 1912.<ref name=CGN /> The name was an acronym of the "Bible Institute of Los Angeles".<ref name=CGN /> A post office operated in Biola from 1912 to 1918, and from 1920 to the present.<ref name=CGN />
Demographics
[edit]The 2020 United States census reported that Biola had a population of 1,427. The population density was Template:Convert. The racial makeup of Biola was 316 (22.1%) White, 3 (0.2%) African American, 46 (3.2%) Native American, 120 (8.4%) Asian, 3 (0.2%) Pacific Islander, 725 (50.8%) from other races, and 214 (15.0%) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1,243 persons (87.1%).<ref name=DP1>Template:Cite web</ref>
The whole population lived in households. There were 333 households, out of which 181 (54.4%) had children under the age of 18 living in them, 155 (46.5%) were married-couple households, 17 (5.1%) were cohabiting couple households, 104 (31.2%) had a female householder with no partner present, and 57 (17.1%) had a male householder with no partner present. 53 households (15.9%) were one person, and 28 (8.4%) were one person aged 65 or older. The age distribution was 519 people (36.4%) under the age of 18, 167 people (11.7%) aged 18 to 24, 353 people (24.7%) aged 25 to 44, 273 people (19.1%) aged 45 to 64, and 115 people (8.1%) who were 65Template:Nbspyears of age or older. The median age was 26.2Template:Nbspyears. For every 100 females, there were 97.1 males.<ref name=DP1/>
There were 344 housing units at an average density of Template:Convert, of which 333 (96.8%) were occupied. Of these, 179 (53.8%) were owner-occupied, and 154 (46.2%) were occupied by renters.<ref name=DP1/>
