Aeneads

In Roman mythology, the Aeneads (Template:Langx) were the friends, family and companions of Aeneas, with whom they fled from Troy after the Trojan War. Aenides was another patronymic from Aeneas, which is applied by Gaius Valerius Flaccus to the inhabitants of Cyzicus,<ref>Valerius Flaccus, 3.4 </ref> whose town was believed to have been founded by Cyzicus, the son of Aeneas and Aenete.<ref>Template:Citation</ref> Similarly, Aeneades (Ancient Greek: Template:Lang) was a patronymic from Aeneas, and applied as a surname to those who were believed to have been descended from him, such as Ascanius, Augustus, and the Romans in general.<ref>Virgil, Aeneid 9.653 </ref><ref>Ovid, Epistulae ex Ponto 1.35</ref><ref>Ovid, Metamorphoses 15.682 & 15.695 </ref><ref name="dgrbm">Template:Citation</ref>

• Misenus, Aeneas' trumpeter<ref>Virgil, Aeneid 6 </ref>
• Mnestheus, possibly Aeneas' most senior commander
