Cleveland, North Dakota

Cleveland is a city in Stutsman County, North Dakota, United States. The population was 57 at the 2020 census.<ref name="2020 Census (City)">Template:Cite web</ref>

History

Cleveland was founded in 1882. It was named for Cleveland, Ohio.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> A post office has been in operation at Cleveland since 1882.<ref>Template:Cite web</ref>

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of Template:Convert, all land.<ref name ="census">Template:Cite web</ref>

Demographics

2010 census

As of the census of 2010, there were 83 people in 40 households, including 21 families, in the city. The population density was Template:Convert. There were 54 housing units at an average density of Template:Convert. The racial makup of the city was 100.0% White.

Of the 40 households 20.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.5% were married couples living together, 5.0% had a male householder with no wife present, and 47.5% were non-families. 42.5% of households were one person and 15% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.08 and the average family size was 2.90.

The median age was 44.5 years. 21.7% of residents were under the age of 18; 2.3% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 26.4% were from 25 to 44; 27.6% were from 45 to 64; and 21.7% were 65 or older. The gender makeup of the city was 56.6% male and 43.4% female.

2000 census

As of the census of 2000, there were 112 people in 52 households, including 34 families, in the city. The population density was Template:Convert. There were 59 housing units at an average density of Template:Convert. The racial makup of the city was 99.11% White and 0.89% Native American.

Of the 52 households 26.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% were married couples living together, 7.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.6% were non-families. 34.6% of households were one person and 13.5% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.15 and the average family size was 2.68.

The age distribution was 25.9% under the age of 18, 4.5% from 18 to 24, 20.5% from 25 to 44, 32.1% from 45 to 64, and 17.0% 65 or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females, there were 100.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.6 males.

The median household income was $25,179 and the median family income was $26,750. Males had a median income of $27,500 versus $26,875 for females. The per capita income for the city was $13,707. There were 14.3% of families and 15.8% of the population living below the poverty line, including 12.0% of under eighteens and 9.5% of those over 64.
