History

Twin City gets its name from the combining of two adjacent towns, Graymont and Summit. The two rival towns were merged in 1924 as Twin City.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref>

Of Twin City's Template:Convert area, Template:Convert is included in the Twin City Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This includes the historic jail and former city hall building <ref name=nrhpdoc>Template:Cite web Includes 42 photos from 2012.</ref>

Geography

Twin City is located in eastern Emanuel County at Template:Coord (32.580420, -82.157776).<ref name="GR1">Template:Cite web</ref> U.S. Route 80 passes through the city, leading west Template:Convert to Swainsboro, the county seat, and east Template:Convert to Statesboro.

According to the United States Census Bureau, Twin City has a total area of Template:Convert, of which Template:Convert, or 1.12%, is water.<ref name="Census 2010">Template:Cite web</ref>

George L.
