History

The Georgia General Assembly incorporated Surrency as a town in 1911.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> The community was named after Millard Surrency, a pioneer citizen.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref>

Demographics

As of the census<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 237 people, 98 households, and 69 families residing in the town. By 2020, its population declined to 194.
