Yuma is a home rule municipality that is the most populous municipality in Yuma County, Colorado, United States.<ref name=gnis/> The population was 3,456 at the 2020 census.<ref name="Census 2020" />
History
[edit]A post office in Yuma has been in operation since 1885.<ref>Template:Cite web</ref> The community was named after a Native American named Yuma who worked for the railroad, died and was buried near the town site.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref>
On August 8, 2023, a tornado touched down near the town, damaging farms.<ref>Template:Cite news</ref>
The Yuma School's mascot is the Outlaws.

[edit]According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of Template:Convert, of which Template:Convert is land and 0.41% is water. Yuma is 27 miles from the nearest city, Wray.
