Demographics
[edit]The 2020 United States census reported that Amesti had a population of 2,637. The population density was Template:Convert. The racial makeup of Amesti was 42.2% White, 0.3% African American, 1.4% Native American, 1.7% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 36.7% from other races, and 17.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 59.3% of the population.
The census reported that 99.1% of the population lived in households and 0.9% lived in non-institutionalized group quarters.
There were 806 households, out of which 40.7% included children under the age of 18, 55.5% were married-couple households, 6.2% were cohabiting couple households, 25.8% had a female householder with no partner present, and 12.5% had a male householder with no partner present. 15.5% of households were one person, and 7.8% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 3.24. There were 634 families (78.7% of all households).
The age distribution was 23.1% under the age of 18, 9.9% aged 18 to 24, 25.7% aged 25 to 44, 24.4% aged 45 to 64, and 16.9% who were 65Template:Nbspyears of age or older. The median age was 37.6Template:Nbspyears. For every 100 females, there were 101.8 males.
