Deer Park is a census-designated place (CDP)<ref>Template:Gnis</ref> in Napa County, California, United States. The population was 1,267 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Napa, California Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its area code is 707. Its zip code is 94576. It is in the Pacific time zone. Deer Creek is where Elmshaven, a large Victorian home lived in by Ellen White in the early twentieth century, is located.
History
[edit]In August 2020, Deer Park was evacuated due to the Hennessey Fire, which resulted in the burning of over Template:Convert in five counties, including near Deer Park.<ref name="CALFIRE">Template:Cite web</ref>
The Glass Fire caused significant damage throughout Deer Park in late September 2020, destroying numerous houses as well as much of the Foothills Adventist Elementary School.<ref>Template:Cite news</ref>

Demographics
[edit]The 2020 United States census reported that Deer Park had a population of 1,294. The population density was Template:Convert. The racial makeup of Deer Park was 940 (72.6%) White, 21 (1.6%) African American, 13 (1.0%) Native American, 69 (5.3%) Asian, 7 (0.5%) Pacific Islander, 106 (8.2%) from other races, and 138 (10.7%) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 251 persons (19.4%).<ref name=DP1>Template:Cite web</ref>
The census reported that 85.9% of the population lived in households, 0.4% lived in non-institutionalized group quarters, and 13.7% were institutionalized.<ref name=DP1/>
There were 487 households, out of which 94 (19.3%) had children under the age of 18 living in them, 218 (44.8%) were married-couple households, 31 (6.4%) were cohabiting couple households, 142 (29.2%) had a female householder with no partner present, and 96 (19.7%) had a male householder with no partner present. 166 households (34.1%) were one person, and 75 (15.4%) were one person aged 65 or older. The age distribution was 190 people (14.7%) under the age of 18, 64 people (4.9%) aged 18 to 24, 239 people (18.5%) aged 25 to 44, 337 people (26.0%) aged 45 to 64, and 464 people (35.9%) who were 65Template:Nbspyears of age or older. The median age was 56.0Template:Nbspyears. For every 100 females, there were 79.2 males.<ref name=DP1/>
