Blayne Nutron Weaver (born April 9, 1976 in Bossier City) is an American director, screenwriter, and actor.<ref name=geekdcon2023>Template:Cite web</ref><ref name=tvinsider-list/> Among his better-known films are Manic (2001), Weather Girl (2009), 6 Month Rule (2011), and Cut to the Chase (2016).<ref name="usa"/><ref name=santagirl/><ref name=dailyactorinterview2012/> He has also been the voice of Peter Pan since the 2002 film Return to Never Land.<ref name="usa"/><ref name=ktalnews/> Many of his movies are filmed in the Shreveport area, with several involving Shenandoah's film department to employ cast and crew.<ref name=santagirl/><ref name=cupidforchristmas/><ref name=missvalentine/><ref name=getaway/>
Early life
[edit]Weaver was born in Bossier City, Louisiana on April 9, 1976.<ref name=tvinsider-list/><ref name=cuttothechase/><ref name=ktalnews/> From age five, Weaver acted in local plays with the Peter Pan Players in Shreveport, and later with Centenary College of Louisiana and River City Repertory Theatre.<ref name=makingit2015/><ref name=geekdcon2023/><ref name=kennell2016>Template:Cite web</ref><ref name=710keelinterview>Template:Cite web</ref> He was performing in "three shows a year" until he was fifteen, when he began traveling to Dallas to audition for larger roles.<ref name=710keelinterview/> After graduating from Parkway High School,<ref name=710keel>Template:Cite web</ref><ref name=geekdcon2023/><ref name=710keelinterview/> he lived in New York City for six months before relocating to Los Angeles.<ref name=710keelinterview/><ref name=dailyactorinterview2012>Template:Cite web</ref>
Career
[edit]In the 1990s, Weaver's career was mostly in television. He appeared in the made-for-TV films The Flood: Who Will Save Our Children? (1993) and The Good Old Boys (1995), followed by several bit roles on shows including ER, JAG, and Chicago Hope.<ref name=cincycomicexpo>Template:Cite web</ref><ref name=geekdcon2023/><ref name=tcm/><ref name=amda/> In 2001, he became the new voice of Peter Pan.<ref name="usa"/><ref name=ktalnews/> He has since appeared in shows such as House of Mouse and has done recordings for the Disney theme parks,<ref name=dizradio>Template:Cite web</ref><ref name=kennell2016/> including for Mickey's PhilharMagic (2003).<ref name=tvinsider-list/> He also provided the voice for Pan in Kingdom Hearts and Disney Infinity 3.0,<ref name=dizradio/><ref name=geekdcon2023/> and for Peter Pan Cookie in Cookie Run: Kingdom.<ref>Template:Cite web</ref>
In 2001, Weaver co-wrote the film Manic, which stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt.<ref name=santagirl/><ref name="usa">Template:Cite web</ref> The film premiered at Sundance Film Festival.<ref name=santagirl/><ref name=amda/> In 2004, he formed Secret Identity Productions (SIP) with childhood friend Brandon Barrera.<ref name=audioboom2016/><ref name=ktalnews>Template:Cite web</ref> Later that year, they released the short film Losing Lois Lane, which Weaver directed, wrote, and starred in.<ref name=cincycomicexpo/><ref name=audioboom2016/> The film was popular online and was Weaver's directorial debut.<ref name=dailyactorinterview2012/><ref name=audioboom2016/> Weaver also wrote, directed and starred in SIP's first feature film, Outside Sales,<ref name=santagirl/><ref name=audioboom2016/><ref name=dailyactorinterview2012/> which won awards on the film festival circuitTemplate:Cn and was later released on DVD.<ref name=dailyactorinterview2012/> SIP's next feature, Weather Girl, premiered at Slamdance Film Festival and had an ensemble cast of Tricia O'Kelley, Mark Harmon, Jon Cryer, and Jane Lynch.<ref name=santagirl/><ref name=slant-weather>Template:Cite web</ref><ref name=screendaily/> Like SIP's other films, Weaver wrote, directed, and acted in the movie. Weaver's next major film was 6 Month Rule in 2011. It starred Martin Starr, Jaime Pressly, John Michael Higgins, and Natalie Morales<ref name=santagirl/><ref name=6monthrule/> and won best feature film and best actor (Weaver) at the 2012 Hill Country Film Festival.<ref name=hill2012/> He had his stage directorial debut in 2015 with the River City Repertory Theatre's production of True West.<ref>Template:Cite web</ref><ref name=makingit2015>Template:Cite web</ref> This was followed by another feature film, Cut to the Chase (2016), which Weaver wrote, directed, and starred in.
