Geography
[edit]Terrebonne is located in northeastern Deschutes County along U.S. Route 97. It is Template:Convert north of Redmond, Template:Convert north of Bend, the county seat, and Template:Convert south of Madras. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of Template:Convert, all land,<ref name="Census 2010"/> a reduction from Template:Convert at the 2000 census.
Climate
[edit]This region experiences warm (but not hot) and dry summers, with no average monthly temperatures above 71.6 °F. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Terrebonne has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate, abbreviated "Csb" on climate maps.<ref>Climate Summary for Terrebonne, Oregon</ref>
Demographics
[edit]As of the census<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 1,469 people, 531 households, and 409 families residing in the CDP. The population density was Template:Convert. There were 561 housing units at an average density of Template:Convert. The racial makeup of the CDP was 94.49% White, 0.07% African American, 0.95% Native American, 0.14% Asian, 2.18% from other races, and 2.18% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.56% of the population.
There were 531 households, out of which 35.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.6% were married couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.8% were non-families. 20 3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.76 and the average family size was 3.13.
In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 28.4% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 26.7% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 108.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.0 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $37,674, and the median income for a family was $49,375. Males had a median income of $26,359 versus $23,476 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $17,698. About 3.9% of families and 7.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.2% of those under age 18 and 14.4% of those age 65 or over.
