==Demographics==

The [[Race and ethnicity in the United States Census#2000 census|racial makeup]] of the CDP was 97.31% White, 1.35% African American, 0.22% Asian, 0.17% Pacific Islander, 0.62% from other races, and 0.34% from two or more races. The age distribution was 17.6% under the age of 18, 3.8% from 18 to 24, 20.6% from 25 to 44, 25.8% from 45 to 64, and 32.2% 65 or older. The median age was 50 years. For every 100 females, there were 86.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 82.4 males.

The median household income was $45,263 and the median family income  was $54,250. Males had a median income of $37,202 versus $26,576 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $23,781.
