==Geography==
Whelen Springs is located in southern Clark County approximately {{convert|1|mi}} north of the [[Little Missouri River (Arkansas)|Little Missouri River]]. [[Arkansas Highway 53]] passes through the town, leading north {{convert|6|mi|0}} to [[Gurdon, Arkansas|Gurdon]] and south {{convert|10|mi|0}} to [[Bluff City, Arkansas|Bluff City]], via [[Arkansas Highway 24|Highway 24]].

There were 41 households, out of which 26.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.1% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 2.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 39.0% were non-families. 36.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 22.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.05 and the average family size was 2.60.

In the town, the population was spread out, with 14.3% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 31.0% from 25 to 44, 27.4% from 45 to 64, and 17.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females, there were 127.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 118.2 males.
