As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 503 people, 200 households, and 141 families residing in the town. The [[population density]] was 12.5 people per square mile (4.8/km<sup>2</sup>). There were 339 housing units at an average density of 8.4 per square mile (3.3/km<sup>2</sup>). The racial makeup of the town was 96.02% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.40% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.20% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.20% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.60% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 2.58% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.59% of the population.

There were 200 households, out of which 26.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.0% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 9.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.5% were non-families. 21.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 2.78.
