According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the CDP has a total area of 3.4&nbsp;square miles (8.9&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>), of which, 1.4&nbsp;square miles (3.7&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) of it is land and 2.0&nbsp;square miles (5.2&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) of it (58.89%) is water.

As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 5,937 people, 2,164 households, and 1,659 families residing in the CDP. The [[population density]] was 4,203.1 people per square mile (1,625.7/km<sup>2</sup>). There were 2,229 housing units at an average density of 1,578.0/sq&nbsp;mi (610.4/km<sup>2</sup>). The racial makeup of the CDP was 86.53% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 1.08% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.42% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 9.03% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.08% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.51% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 2.36% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.90% of the population.

There were 2,164 households, out of which 38.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.0% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 7.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.3% were non-families. 16.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 3.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The median income for a household in the CDP was $86,415, and the median income for a family was $95,421. Males had a median income of $62,045 versus $37,768 for females.
