'''West Hills''' is a [[Hamlet (New York)|hamlet]] and [[census-designated place]] (CDP) in the [[Administrative divisions of New York#Town|Town]] of [[Huntington, New York|Huntington]], [[Suffolk County, New York|Suffolk County]], [[New York (state)|New York]]. West Hills County Park is the location of [[Jayne's Hill]], the natural highest point on Long Island ({{convert|400|ft|m|disp=semicolon}}).

As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 5,607 people, 1,978 households, and 1,647 families residing in the CDP. The [[population density]] was {{convert|1,131.7|/mi2|/km2}}. There were 2,008 housing units at an average density of {{convert|405.3|/mi2|/km2}}. The racial makeup of the CDP was 94.40% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.89% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.02% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 3.41% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.45% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.84% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 2.41% of the population.

There were 1,978 households, out of which 35.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.7% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 7.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 16.7% were non-families. 13.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.83 and the average family size was 3.09.

In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 23.7% under the age of 18, 5.3% from 18 to 24, 28.1% from 25 to 44, 29.5% from 45 to 64, and 13.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females, there were 98.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.0 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $87,295, and the median income for a family was $94,363. Males had a median income of $61,919 versus $45,134 for females.
