According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the town has a total area of 36.2&nbsp;square miles (93.7&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>), of which, 35.7&nbsp;square miles (92.5&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) of it is land and 0.5&nbsp;square miles (1.2&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) of it (1.30%) is water.

==Demographics==
As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 859 people, 331 households, and 229 families residing in the town. The [[population density]] was 24.0 people per square mile (9.3/km<sup>2</sup>). There were 351 housing units at an average density of 9.8 per square mile (3.8/km<sup>2</sup>). The racial makeup of the town was 98.95% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.12% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.23% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.70% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.05% of the population.
