Waldo was laid out in 1833 by M. D. In 1895, Groll’s Fine Furniture was established to sell caskets and furniture. The racial makeup of the village was 96.4% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.3% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.9% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], and 2.4% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.2% of the population.
