Highway 63 leads north {{convert|21|mi}} to [[Lucedale, Mississippi|Lucedale]] and south {{convert|22|mi}} to [[Pascagoula, Mississippi|Pascagoula]], the Jackson [[county seat]]. Highway 614 leads east {{convert|5|mi|0}} to [[Hurley, Mississippi|Hurley]] and west {{convert|10|mi|0}} to [[Mississippi Highway 57]] north of [[Vancleave, Mississippi|Vancleave]].

The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.95% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 1.02% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.20% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.81% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.20% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.81% from two or more races.
