The [[Lehman's, Port Royal Covered Bridge]] was listed on the [[National Register of Historic Places]] in 1979.<ref name="nris">{{NRISref|version=2010a}}</ref>

==Geography==
According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the township has a total area of {{convert|42.8|sqkm|order=flip}}, of which {{convert|42.4|sqkm|order=flip}} are land and {{convert|0.4|sqkm|order=flip|1}}, or 0.89%, are water.<ref name="Census 2010"/> The [[Juniata River]] forms the northeastern border of the township.

Turbett Township is in south-central Juniata County and is bordered by [[Milford Township, Juniata County, Pennsylvania|Milford Township]] and the borough of [[Port Royal, Pennsylvania|Port Royal]] to the north, [[Walker Township, Juniata County, Pennsylvania|Walker Township]] to the north and east, [[Perry County, Pennsylvania|Perry County]] to the south and [[Spruce Hill Township, Pennsylvania|Spruce Hill Township]] to the west. The southern boundary of the township follows the top of [[Tuscarora Mountain]], part of the [[Ridge-and-Valley Appalachians]].

The township includes the unincorporated communities of Old Port and Tuscarora.

The [[population density]] was 49.9 people per square mile (19.3/km<sup>2</sup>).  There were 403 housing units at an average density of 24.5/sq&nbsp;mi (9.5/km<sup>2</sup>).  The racial makeup of the township was 99.39% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.12% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.24% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.24% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.73% of the population.

There were 308 households, out of which 33.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 72.1% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 6.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.5% were non-families. 17.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.  The average household size was 2.66 and the average family size was 2.99.

In the township the population was spread out, with 25.2% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 28.1% from 25 to 44, 26.0% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 years of age or older.  The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 101.2 males.  For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.3 males.

The median income for a household in the township was $35,000, and the median income for a family was $40,492. Males had a median income of $28,095 versus $21,538 for females. The [[per capita income]] for the township was $14,905.  About 6.1% of families and 8.8% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 10.0% of those under age 18 and 27.5% of those age 65 or over.
