==History==

In 1881 the town was named after the city of [[Truro]] in [[Cornwall]], [[United Kingdom]], by suggestion of the local train conductor, whose hometown was [[Truro, Massachusetts|Truro]] on [[Cape Cod]] in [[Massachusetts]].
