The [[population density]] was {{convert|1203.1|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 190 housing units at an average density of {{convert|593.8|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the town was 98.4% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]] and 1.6% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.3% of the population.

There were 163 households, of which 31.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.6% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 13.5% had a female householder with no husband present, 6.1% had a male householder with no wife present, and 36.8% were non-families. 31.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.36 and the average family size was 2.99.

The racial makeup of the town was 99.23% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.51% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], and 0.26% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.28% of the population.

There were 172 households, out of which 26.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.3% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 10.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 39.0% were non-families. 30.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.24 and the average family size was 2.84.

Previously Troy had its own high school. The school colors were green and old gold, and the mascot was the Trojans.
