Syracuse is the headquarters of the Wawasee School Corporation teaching students in K-12. It is the location of Administration, [[Wawasee High School]], Syracuse Elementary,<ref>[http://www.wawasee.k12.in.us/education/school/school.php?sectionid=8 Syracuse Elementary webpage]</ref> and Wawasee Middle School. The racial makeup of the town was 95.7% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.6% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.1% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.7% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 1.6% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 1.3% from two or more races.
