As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 262 people, 109 households, and 80 families living in the town. The [[population density]] was 323.7 people per square mile (124.9/km<sup>2</sup>). There were 119 housing units at an average density of 147.0 per square mile (56.7/km<sup>2</sup>). The racial makeup of the town was 74.05% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 23.28% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 1.15% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 1.53% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]]. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.76% of the population.

There were 109 households, out of which 30.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.2% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 11.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.6% were non-families. 24.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.40 and the average family size was 2.83.

In the town, the population was spread out, with 21.8% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 33.2% from 25 to 44, 21.4% from 45 to 64, and 15.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 98.5 males. For every 100 females aged 18 and over, there were 97.1 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $42,361, and the median income for a family was $51,071. Males had a median income of $30,000 versus $22,500 for females.
