The townsite is located on what was a ranch established around 1874 by brothers Joseph D. ”Ikard” Sugg and Eli Calvin “Cal” Sugg.<ref name=OHS>{{cite web|url= https://www.okhistory.org/publications/enc/entry?entry=SU003 |title=Sugden|publisher=Oklahoma Historical Society|accessdate=March 16, 2024}}</ref>  A store named “Sugg’s Den” was established there, and a settlement grew around it.<ref name=OHS/>  A post office was added in November 1893, which was designated Sugden.<ref name=OHS/>  Said post office closed in November 1955.<ref name=OHS/>

There were 23 housing units at an average density of {{convert|106.4|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the town was 88.14% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 6.78% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 5.08% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]]. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 10.17% of the population.

There were 20 households, out of which 50.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 80.0% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 10.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 10.0% were non-families. 10.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.95 and the average family size was 3.17.

In the town, the population was spread out, with 28.8% under the age of 18, 10.2% from 18 to 24, 28.8% from 25 to 44, 15.3% from 45 to 64, and 16.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females, there were 126.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 121.1 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $20,000, and the median income for a family was $21,250. Males had a median income of $16,667 versus $26,250 for females.
