The racial makeup of the city was 95.8% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.2% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.5% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.4% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 1.0% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 2.0% from two or more races. The racial makeup of the city was 97.44% White, 0.09% African American, 0.47% Native American, 0.28% Asian, 0.23% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.23% from other races, and 1.26% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.63% of the population.<ref name ="wwwcensusgov"/>

There were 686 households, out of which 36.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.6% were married couples living together, 6.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.7% were non-families. 22.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.  The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.14.<ref name ="wwwcensusgov"/>

In the city, the population was spread out, with 24.3% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 22.2% from 25 to 44, 18.7% from 45 to 64, and 29.3% who were 65 years of age or older.  The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females, there were 81.7 males.  For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 75.5 males.<ref name ="wwwcensusgov"/>

The median income for a household in the city was $49,034, and the median income for a family was $55,921. Males had a median income of $42,734 versus $25,924 for females.
