In the borough the population was spread out, with 24.3% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 26.1% from 25 to 44, 22.9% from 45 to 64, and 18.8% 65 or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 94.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.4 males. The median household income was $30,592 and the median family income was $35,714. Males had a median income of $32,014 versus $19,861 for females. The per capita income for the borough was $14,999.
