In February 2001 James Parker and Robert Tulloch, wanted in the [[2001 Dartmouth College murders]] in New Hampshire, were arrested at a truck stop here. They had hitchhiked with truckers to this point and been tracked down by police after a driver's casual announcement on his CB radio that the pair were traveling west.

The [[population density]] was {{convert|1780.0|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 389 housing units at an average density of {{convert|778.0|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the town was 98.5% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.1% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.2% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.7% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 0.4% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.7% of the population.

[[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.61% of the population.
