Snook is {{convert|13|mi}} southwest of [[College Station, Texas|College Station]] and {{convert|17|mi}} southeast of [[Caldwell, Texas|Caldwell]], the Burleson County seat.

As of the [[2020 United States census]], there were 506 people, 236 households, and 159 families residing in the city.

As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 568 people, 221 households, and 160 families residing in the city. The population density was {{convert|282.6|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 252 housing units at an average density of {{convert|125.4|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the city was 75.70% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 21.13% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.18% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 2.64% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.35% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 10.39% of the population.

There were 221 households, out of which 37.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.6% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 17.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.6% were non-families. 24.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. Snook is served by the [[Snook Independent School District]] and home to the [[Snook Middle & High School|Snook Secondary School]] Bluejays.

==Attractions and events==
Snook is the home of Chilifest, an annual charity event held since 1991 that attracts some of the biggest names in country music for a two-day chili cook-off and concert. This event attracts more than 50,000 people each year.{{cn|date=August 2024}} According to the event's web site, Chilifest has donated more than $3,500,000 to area organizations such as Burleson County Go-Texan, the Boys & Girls Club of Brazos Valley and the Snook Volunteer Fire Department.
