The inscription is on the thin diagonal slab held by a putto]] '''Sir Philip Carteret, 2nd Baronet''' (c. 1650 β 1693), also known as '''Philippe de Carteret IV''', was the 5th Seigneur of [[Sark]] from 1663 to 1693. ==Origins== He was born in about 1650, the eldest son of [[Sir Philip Carteret, 1st Baronet]] (1620β1675) (Philippe de Carteret III), the 4th Seigneur of Sark, by his wife Anne des Augres (1566β1644),<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.myheritage.com/names/anne_dowse|title=Anne Dowse - Historical records and family trees - MyHeritage|website=www.myheritage.com}}</ref> daughter of Abraham Dumaresq Seig des Augres.
