According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the township has a total area of 35.9 square miles (93.0&nbsp;km{{sup|2}}), all land.

==Demographics==
As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 493 people, 200 households, and 140 families residing in the township.  The [[population density]] was 13.7 per square mile (5.3/km{{sup|2}}).  There were 319 housing units at an average density of 8.9 per square mile (3.4/km{{sup|2}}).  The racial makeup of the township was 96.96% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.41% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.61% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.20% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], and 1.83% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 2.03% of the population.

There were 200 households, out of which 24.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.0% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 7.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.0% were non-families. 28.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.  The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 2.94.

In the township the population was spread out, with 23.3% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 25.4% from 25 to 44, 25.8% from 45 to 64, and 19.7% who were 65 years of age or older.  The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females, there were 101.2 males.  For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.1 males.

The median income for a household in the township was $40,547, and the median income for a family was $43,438. Males had a median income of $31,786 versus $21,406 for females. The [[per capita income]] for the township was $18,432.  About 6.6% of families and 10.8% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 21.8% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
