Sheridan is located on [[Missouri Route 246]] one mile east of the Worth county line and 3.5 miles south of the Missouri-[[Iowa]] state line. The racial makeup of the city was 95.4% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 1.5% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 1.0% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 2.1% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.5% of the population.

The average household size was 1.91 and the average family size was 2.54.

In the town the population was spread out, with 18.4% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 22.2% from 25 to 44, 23.8% from 45 to 64, and 30.3% who were 65 years of age or older.
