According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the town has a total area of 29.1&nbsp;square miles (75.4&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>), of which, 25.6&nbsp;square miles (66.3&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) is land and 3.5&nbsp;square miles (9.2&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) (12.19%) is water.

According to 2009–2013 [[American Community Survey|ACS]] estimates, the [[median household income]] was $75,742 and the median family income was $95,813. Males had a median income of $64,613 versus $45,208 for females. The [[per capita income]] for the town was $42,038. The [[population density]] was 183.2 people per square mile (70.7/km<sup>2</sup>). There were 1,817 housing units at an average density of 71 per square mile (27.4/km<sup>2</sup>). The racial makeup of the town was 96.89% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.32% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.28% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 1.69% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.02% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.11% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.7% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] people of any race were 0.73% of the population.

There were 1,771 households, out of which 35.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 71% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.1% were non-families. 18% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.65 and the average family size was 3.

In the town, the population was spread out, with 26.8% under the age of 18, 5% from 18 to 24, 23.6% from 25 to 44, 32.4% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 years of age or older.
