There are two theories on how the town of Roann got its name. The [[population density]] was {{convert|2082.6|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 208 housing units at an average density of {{convert|904.3|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the town was 98.5% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.6% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.4% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], and 0.4% from two or more races.

There were 186 households, of which 34.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.3% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 11.3% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.3% had a male householder with no wife present, and 30.1% were non-families. 27.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 16.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.58 and the average family size was 3.10.

The median age in the town was 35.6 years. 28% of residents were under the age of 18; 8.3% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 25.9% were from 25 to 44; 21.4% were from 45 to 64; and 16.5% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the town was 45.9% male and 54.1% female.

The racial makeup of the town was 98.00% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.25% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 1.75% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.25% of the population.

There were 154 households, out of which 36.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.4% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 8.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.9% were non-families. 21.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 2.99.

In the town, the population was spread out, with 27.5% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 26.0% from 25 to 44, 25.0% from 45 to 64, and 12.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females, there were 91.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.6 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $41,000, and the median income for a family was $42,955. Males had a median income of $29,833 versus $22,411 for females.
