The racial makeup of the village was 77.4% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 17.8% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 1.9% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.1% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.3% [[Race (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 1.4% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 1.2% from two or more races. The racial makeup of the village was 94.90% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.87% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 1.15% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.67% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 2.40% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 3.08% of the population.

There were 440 households, out of which 29.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.6% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 11.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.9% were non-families. 32.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 17.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
