'''Ravenna Township''' is a [[civil township]] of [[Muskegon County, Michigan|Muskegon County]] in the [[U.S. state]] of [[Michigan]]. As of the [[2020 United States census|2020 census]], the population was 2,962,<ref name="Census 2020"/> up from 2,905 in [[2010 United States census|2010]]. The [[Ravenna, Michigan|village of Ravenna]] is located within the township.

==Geography==
The township is in southeastern Muskegon County, bordered to the south and east by [[Ottawa County, Michigan|Ottawa County]]. The village of Ravenna is in the northeast part of the township. [[Muskegon, Michigan|Muskegon]], the [[county seat]], is {{convert|18|mi}} to the west, and [[Grand Rapids, Michigan|Grand Rapids]] is {{convert|27|mi}} to the southeast.

According to the [[U.S. Census Bureau]], the township has a total area of {{convert|36.4|sqmi|km2}}, of which {{convert|36.2|sqmi}} are land and {{convert|0.2|sqmi|1}}, or 0.57%, are water.<ref name="CenPopGazetteer2023"/> The township is drained by Crockery Creek, which passes through the village of Ravenna and flows southwest to join the [[Grand River (Michigan)|Grand River]] south of [[Nunica, Michigan|Nunica]].

As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 2,856 people, 1,004 households, and 797 families residing in the township.  The population density was {{convert|78.6|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}.  There were 1,044 housing units at an average density of {{convert|28.7|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}.  The racial makeup of the township was 96.95% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.32% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.32% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.11% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 1.51% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.81% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 3.05% of the population.

There were 1,004 households, out of which 39.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.5% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 8.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.6% were non-families. 17.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.  The average household size was 2.84 and the average family size was 3.21.

In the township the population was spread out, with 30.3% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 31.0% from 25 to 44, 19.2% from 45 to 64, and 12.0% who were 65 years of age or older.  The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females, there were 95.5 males.  For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.3 males.

The median income for a household in the township was $44,315, and the median income for a family was $49,113. Males had a median income of $38,429 versus $25,903 for females. The [[per capita income]] for the township was $18,440.  About 6.4% of families and 8.1% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 10.7% of those under age 18 and 4.7% of those age 65 or over.
