==Geography==

Quincy is located in western Adams County at {{coord|43|53|34|N|89|54|44|W|type:city}} (43.893020, −89.912330).<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|access-date=April 23, 2011|date=February 12, 2011|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> Its western border is the [[Wisconsin River]], part of which is impounded within [[Castle Rock Lake]], a large reservoir. Quincy Bluff is an {{convert|1180|ft|m|adj=mid|-high}}, {{convert|2|mi|km|adj=mid|-long}} ridge that rises {{convert|250|ft}} above the surrounding land in the southern part of the town.

According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the town has a total area of {{convert|102.6|sqkm|order=flip}}, of which {{convert|84.0|sqkm|order=flip}} is land and {{convert|18.6|sqkm|order=flip}}, or 18.17%, is water.<ref name="Census 2010"/>

==Demographics==
As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 1,181 people, 569 households, and 361 families residing in the town. There were 1,614 housing units at an average density of {{convert|49.2|/mi2|/km2|disp=preunit|units&nbsp;|units|}}. The racial makeup of the town was 98.73% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.08% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.34% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.08% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.25% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.51% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.76% of the population.

There were 569 households, out of which 14.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.1% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 4.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.4% were non-families. 29.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 17.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.08 and the average family size was 2.49.

In the town, the population was spread out, with 14.1% under the age of 18, 4.1% from 18 to 24, 20.5% from 25 to 44, 29.7% from 45 to 64, and 31.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 54 years. For every 100 females, there were 99.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.2 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $26,533, and the median income for a family was $33,529. Males had a median income of $32,024 versus $22,188 for females.
