Purcell is located between the [[Spring River (Missouri)|Spring River]] and the [[North Fork Spring River]] approximately eight miles northwest of [[Carthage, Missouri|Carthage]]. The racial makeup of the city was 94.4% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 1.5% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 2.2% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], and 2.0% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.7% of the population.

[[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 3.08% of the population.
