The first post office was established at Pierron in 1870.<ref name="historicgville">Allan H. ==Geography==
Pierron is located in southwestern Bond County and eastern Madison County. The village has two sections that are {{convert|4|mi|0}} apart and connected by [[Illinois Route 143]]. The western section, also known as "Pierron Station"<ref>{{cite gnis|415646|Pierron}}</ref> and crossed by the [[CSX Transportation]] St. Louis Line railroad, is on the Bond–Madison county line, while the eastern section, also known as "Millersburg",<ref>{{cite gnis|415647|Pierron}}></ref> is four miles to the east. [[Highland, Illinois|Highland]] is {{convert|5|mi|0}} southwest of the western part of Pierron, while [[Pocahontas, Illinois|Pocahontas]] is {{convert|4|mi|0}} north of the eastern part.

According to the [[U.S. Census Bureau]], Pierron has a total area of {{convert|0.73|sqmi|km2|2}}, all land.<ref name="CenPopGazetteer2022"/> The western part of the village drains west to Sugar Creek, while the east part drains east to [[Shoal Creek (Illinois)|Shoal Creek]], both of which are south-flowing tributaries of the [[Kaskaskia River]].

The population density was {{Convert|625.34|PD/sqmi|PD/km2}}. There were 232 housing units at an average density of {{Convert|316.08|/sqmi|/km2}}. The racial makeup of the village was 92.37% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.65% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.44% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.22% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.65% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 5.66% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.74% of the population.

There were 180 households, out of which 18.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.00% were married couples living together, 6.67% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.33% were non-families. 25.00% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.11% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.66 and the average family size was 2.18.

The village's age distribution consisted of 13.7% under the age of 18, 3.6% from 18 to 24, 24.9% from 25 to 44, 31.9% from 45 to 64, and 26.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 52.3 years. For every 100 females, there were 110.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 103.0 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $70,313, and the median income for a family was $78,319. Males had a median income of $31,713 versus $18,750 for females.
