Pickering is located on [[Missouri Route 148]] approximately {{convert|7|mi|spell=in}} north of [[Maryville, Missouri|Maryville]] and {{convert|6.5|mi}}  south of [[Hopkins, Missouri|Hopkins]]. The racial makeup of the town was 100.0% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]].

There were 70 households, of which 30.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.3% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 10.0% had a female householder with no husband present, 8.6% had a male householder with no wife present, and 37.1% were non-families. 31.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 18.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.17 and the average family size was 2.66.

In the town the population was spread out, with 18.2% under the age of 18, 12.3% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 18.2% from 45 to 64, and 22.1% who were 65 years of age or older.
