==Geography==
Parrottsville is located in northeastern Cocke County. [[U.S. Route 321]], a four-lane highway, passes south of the town, leading southwest {{convert|7|mi|0}} to [[Newport, Tennessee|Newport]], the [[county seat]], and northeast {{convert|19|mi}} to [[Greeneville, Tennessee|Greeneville]].

As of the [[2020 United States census]], there were 217 people, 117 households, and 51 families residing in the town.

As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 207 people, 79 households, and 60 families residing in the town. The population density was {{convert|572.5|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 85 housing units at an average density of {{convert|235.1|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the town was 94.20% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 4.35% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], and 1.45% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.48% of the population.

There were 79 households, out of which 36.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.2% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 15.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.8% were non-families. 20.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 3.00.
