The population was 1,397 at the [[2020 United States census|2020 census]]. The unincorporated communities of [[Chapin, Wisconsin|Chapin]] and [[Paris (community), Wisconsin|Paris]] are located within the town.

== History ==
Seth B. Myrick was the first settler in Paris, arriving from [[Paris, New York]], on July 10, 1837. Later arrivals allowed Myrick the privilege of naming the community, and he chose the name of his original home community. As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 1,473 people, 535 households, and 434 families residing in the town. The population density was {{convert|40.4|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 554 housing units at an average density of {{convert|15.2|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the town was 97.90% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.27% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.14% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.27% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.54% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.88% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.36% of the population.

There were 535 households, out of which 32.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.8% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 8.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.7% were non-families. 15.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.75 and the average family size was 3.03.

In the town, the population was spread out, with 24.9% under the age of 18, 5.6% from 18 to 24, 29.8% from 25 to 44, 25.7% from 45 to 64, and 14.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females, there were 98.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.6 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $54,375, and the median income for a family was $60,089. Males had a median income of $40,093 versus $27,750 for females.
