The [[population density]] was {{convert|74|/mi2|/km2|disp=preunit|people&nbsp;|people|}}. There were 10,557 housing units at an average density of {{convert|34|/mi2|/km2|disp=preunit|units&nbsp;|units|}}. The racial makeup of the county was 96.65% [[Race (United States Census)|White]], 2.61% [[Race (United States Census)|Black]] or [[Race (United States Census)|African American]], 0.15% [[Race (United States Census)|Native American]], 0.24% [[Race (United States Census)|Asian]], 0.03% [[Race (United States Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.48% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.68% from two or more races. 1.08% of the population were [[Race (United States Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Race (United States Census)|Latino]] of any race.

There were 9,305 households, out of which 29.60% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.80% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 10.50% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.70% were non-families. 24.40% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.10% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 2.91.

In the county, the population was spread out, with 23.00% under the age of 18, 7.70% from 18 to 24, 28.30% from 25 to 44, 25.30% from 45 to 64, and 15.70% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 96.20 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.40 males.

The median income for a household in the county was $33,359, and the median income for a family was $39,005. Males had a median income of $27,199 versus $19,821 for females. The [[per capita income]] for the county was $16,321. About 10.10% of families and 12.50% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 16.00% of those under age 18 and 14.70% of those age 65 or over.

[[Laurel Ridge Community College]]'s Luray-Page County Center is located in Luray, which provides [[college]] and [[workforce development]] classes. Jenkins Hall features more than 13,000 square feet of educational space, including [[classroom]]s, [[Laboratory|science]] and health labs, a trades lab, [[Student center|student commons]], and administrative offices.

Since 1940, Page County has been a stronghold for the Republican Party in presidential elections.
