'''Orange''' is a [[village (United States)#Ohio|village]] in eastern [[Cuyahoga County, Ohio]], United States. The population was 3,421 at the [[2020 United States census|2020 census]]. An affluent eastern suburb of [[Cleveland]], it is part of the [[Greater Cleveland|Cleveland metropolitan area]].

==History==
Orange Township was settled in 1815 and established as a township in 1820. As part of the settlement of the [[Connecticut Western Reserve]], Serenus Bumett was the first settler in the township. The name "Orange" was chosen because several of the early settlers had migrated from [[Orange, Connecticut]].  In 1831, Orange Township was the birthplace of [[President of the United States|President]] [[James Garfield|James A. Garfield]]. However, since then, Orange Township has been divided into five parts.  These are Orange Village, [[Hunting Valley, Ohio|Hunting Valley]], [[Moreland Hills, Ohio|Moreland Hills]], [[Pepper Pike, Ohio|Pepper Pike]] and [[Woodmere, Ohio|Woodmere]]. Garfield's birth and early childhood occurred in modern-day Moreland Hills.

Orange Village, the southwest quadrant of the original township, was incorporated as a village in 1929.

There were 1,444 housing units at an average density of {{convert|380|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the village was 75.3% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 11.2% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 7.7% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.6% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 5.1% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.9% of the population. The foreign-born population was 13.5%.

There were 1,373 households, of which 70.1% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 19.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 8.2% had a male householder with no wife present. The average family size was 2.81, and the median household income was $167,148.

The racial makeup of the village was 77.1% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 14.4% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.1% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 5.7% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.1% [[Race (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.7% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 1.9% from two or more races.
